I had this old boat laying in the bush with a hole in it, so I put some duct tape over the hole, put it in the lake, and this is what I come up with.

this is soooo stunnnigly beautiful! in my opinion the colors are a bit intense for "zen" but even so i think this should've placed a bit higher.

The colours are not exactly shouting 'silence', but the main thing I'm falling over is the tilted horizon. 4

This is really nice, but there is a little too much contrast. I know, I know, there can NEVER be too much contrast (I've said it myself), but if you look near the tree line you'll see why the contrast is too high.

I love the burning sky and the peaceful water. The canoe gives the photo a nice foreground subject

The shoreline is slightly tilted to the right, just enough to be distracting. I like your use of color, and the boat in the foreground provides nice depth. Overall, I give it a 9.

wonderfully vivid color. I love the depth you've captured with the horizon.

I like the colours but feel the boat is placed a little too close to the bottom of the frame (MHO)

Very pretty...remember to level your horizon though.

THE LAKE LOOKS AS THOUGH THE BOAT IS SKATING ON ICE. GREAT COLORS VERY NICELY DONE. 9

Colours far too vivid to convey much sense of serenity to me, personally though I'm sure others will feel differently. The image itself, ignoring the highly saturated nature of it is interesting though the way the boat shadow is clipping the edge of the frame and the slightly tilted horizon both contribute to the off-kilter feeling it gives me.

This is a nice idea, poorly executed. On its own, before the LSD inspired post processing there is a composition here which really nails the challenge - sereneity, harmony, etc. Then the sky is saturated wayyyy too much flaring up those deep reds. Red is anything but a calming color. Add to it that the massive red sky somehow manages to defy physics and not reflect in all of the water it is covering and the sense of realism is shattered beyond repair. The horizon is tilted which always detracts. The reflection of the canoe is cropped off which is also disappointing. Less of the red sky, less red in the sky, turn up those nice blues in the calm water and this shot would have fared much better. 4.

I would like to have seen the entire boat shadow, not cut off.

the way the boat's shadow is attached to the dark border gives this photo the appearance of a symbol, perhaps a Q. It is a pleasing effect and unites all the elements within. 9.

Great colours. The only suggestion I have is to not crop the shadow of the boat, but have the water surround the frame. Still, one of my favourites in the challenge. 8.

would have like to have seen the entire reflection of the canoe in the image, alsl, the horizon seems just a bit tilted to the right.

This image is beautiful and simple and has lots of impact, but the colours definitely do not suggest silence to me. They are too strong and vibrant to do so.

a very nice "zen" image, simple and quiet. I'm not sure I would have cut off the boats shadow at the bottom - and I like saturated landscapes but this seems a bit over the top.

nice art, over processing resulted in a very visible red edge on treeline in background.
