the Angle is what throws me off. I like this one alot looks like he is coming out of a bowl or a pool side. nice Shot. i think it was an under rated shot. grain look.. b\w just adds more to this picture. nice shot! |

dang! wish this would've placed higher! it was def my favorite in the challenge! i think the little "flaws" (blur, tight crop, ect) really add to the shot! ohhh welll.... i guess thats just how it goes. |

Very good intersection of diagonal lines. Good shutter speed trade-off (subject sharpness Vs. background motion blur).
The skater also looks almost monk-like for the concentration and the posture. It tells a lot about skateboarding, at least, that is my impression.
It's not so common for action shots to convey a meaning beyond the mere action.
Excellent shot then.
On my top five for sure. |

And how did you keep the board and the gentleman from landing on you? Nice perspective and love the accompanying documentary shot from Pawdrix. |

Hey Skip - Congrats on a nice finish with this image. Many times after a challenge I'll go back thru some of the comments I made and see what others said to kind of get an idea if I was on track, etc... I'm scratching my head a bit as to why I said a higher shutter speed could have been used. I think I had 'Stopped Motion' on the brain at the time. The way you've shown just a little blur actually helps convey the action in this shot. Looks like you had fun getting it also (as usual). ;^)
Anyway - Smile and keep having fun!

Good gritty panning shot. Tough to get, but you nailed it. Particularly good to get board and rider in focus. Crop's a a tad tight, but hey. |

kickass shot, only nitpicks are it's a little tight crop and his hand is blurred |

It seems just a little bit to closely cropped...but then again, all these type of shots I've looked at are the same way. Maybe it's the new thing? |

Nice action, looks good in BW. Great dof, well composed. I would toss this another point or two but for the fact that part of his hand and the board are cropped out. Not sure if that's by intent or just the way the shot came out of the camera. Still, really nice photo. 5. |

Love that you did this in b/w, like the motion blur behind him... very slightly oversharpened for my taste.... Well Done.... 8 |
