 This is a rather ironic picture. Children often hate peas. I think she loves peas though. I like peas and my little sister shouldn't dislike them.

Yep, it's my little sister. I, tumitumi and TNCameron held a peas workshop for this challenge. I was the model on the both picture they submitted. I had a good idea that I wanted to do in this workshop but we didn't get the right peas for it. Now, I think this idea is much better. The other was a rather boring still life photo of peas.

I got the idea when I saw tumitumi's idea. His idea was to put peas on my face (I'm ok now). Then I got this idea to put peas around a face. I have seen some other photos with this idea, for example the advertisement for Smáralind (an Icelandic mall) and some photos on deviantart that I did't find when I wrote this.

Thanks for the comments and votes. I didn't expect this to ribbon. I was first hoping for the 4th place because I have never placed 4th. Oh well, a blue is also good.

I mostly used curves to get this nice contrast. I also used hue/saturation, dodging and burning and selective colors.

Very cute!

I'm curious about your post processing- how did you get it to look so crisp and with a matte-looking effect? I've noticed this on various images and like the way it looks- works very well for your photo.

Russi: já ég veit hún hefði mátt vera hreinni, ég bara kann ekki að gera það :( Ég reyndi eitthvað smá en þá varð hún bara ljót og væmin. Kannski yrði hún hreinni ef ég notaði eitthvað últramegastórt softbox í staðinn fyrir glugga.

Ég dýrkaði þessa alveg og var að vona að hún væri íslenzk, fannst þetta vera smá Tribute í Ara Magg Smáralindarauglýsingarnar, en hugsaði síðan.. "það er bögg að fá svona bauna-thing hér heima"
Bara lukka með þessa mynd, en reyndar finnst mér augun vera aðeins og mikið, og hefði svo sem ekki verið verra að klóna út hárið þarna neðan við vinstri augað. Bíttar ekki miklu en myndinn hefði verið "hreinni"

LOL. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall when this one was shot. Love the expression. Make sure those beautiful Irises appear in another challenge.

Sweet! The eye contact/ expression is great. The lighting is perfect for his/ her skin but it creates too shiny an effect on the pods and the shadows within the pods are a little too harsh for my preferences too. That said, overall it's a fun and charming picture.

EDIT: Having now seen the unedited version, I would say that lighting was not too harsh but that the processing introduced too high a contrast within the peas for my tastes.
