I call my camera "My Baby." My kids, 5 and 8, call it "Daddy's Baby."

A couple of weekends ago we were visiting friends, who have a small child. We spent the day at the beach & I put my camera bag on a beach chair next to me. Their child wanted to open my camera bag. I told him "No, my baby is in there, be careful." Of course my children chimed in, "YES, BE VERY CAREFUL AROUND DADDY'S BABY! DON'T HURT DADDY'S BABY!"

The child was intrigued that I kept a baby in such a small bag. :-D

One of my favorites to win, but we did have some really "excellent" images in this challenge and only three can get a ribbon.
I really did love this shot, as it is just AWESOME.....

Again I can't believe the number of "low" score given to so many great entries in this challenge.....

I think this is a bit of a stretch as the challenge is stated. The camera and its shadow are not the same thing. So, I can't give you more than a 5 for an outstanding pic.

With the challenge aside, I love this shot: the detail, the colour, just wonderful. With the challenge in mind, you've included a simple shadow, quite elongated by the setting/rising sun (different), which doesn't seem out of place in this gorgeous scenic. Definitely bumping up!

I believe the notion of this challenge was to use your camera to take a picture of itself, not take a picture of a shadow of itself. This doesn't match the notion of the challenge IMO.

Having said that and subject aside, this is one of the best photos in the challenge. Lovely setting. Well copmosed. Nicely lit by low angled sun. Colors are striking. Excellent DOF brings out the texture of the ground and of the mesa. Feels a tiny bit tilted to the left, but could be an optical illusion.

You named your camera "Bob"? Ooookaaaay! Very cool shot. Love the background, it's pretty but doesn't distract from the shadows. 10

Gorgeous spot for a photo, but to me a shadow is not a self portrait.

Wow! Finally after weeding through hundreds of 'ok' images, comes a stand-out. It was definitely worth the wait. I predict this to take the blue. Correct me if you disagree:) Congrats!!!

Lovely image - A different approach too. The orange/brown rocks contrast really well against the sky...
