Hello from the Critique Club
Great take on the challenge, this is a very creative idea. The crop used really brings the flame to the forefront of the composition. The right arm is a bit deep in the shadows and a bit more light there and on his chest would have add some definition to that area. If you could have used some lighting you also could have increased the F-stop and reduced the ISO and had a sharper image. At F/4 there is a limit on the DOF and I feel that lost of sharpness resulted in the lower votes.
Overall this is a very good imaged and had I voted in this challenge I would have scored it an 8

That's really nice, but you dodged the face too much. |

I would like to do this but with a baseball bat. Do you do it as a double exposure or do you photoshop it in. |

Great concept, nice composition. I would like to see the lighting on the man a little crisper. 7. |

Nice idea, but a bit dark. I would like to see the model better lit. |

Very nice idea and guy even look a bit like samurai. I think would be even nicer to see sword in some kind of action but I guess it was not easy to capture this either. |

the model is gracefully positioned, aiding the composition of your shot. |

I like the flames on the sword, but wish the face wasn't so grainy ... |

It's good, nice composition and all, but there's quite a bit of noise in the face |

I like the lighting on the face, hands and blade. A touch more definition on the right arm would have been nice. A little more downward angle of the blade to align with the V of the face while giving more vertical space for the diagonal formed to extend from top left to bottom right. Still a fine image. |
