Challenge: Where In The World Is stdavidson? (Advanced Editing IV*)

Location: Inspiration Point at Lake Alpine, CA

Aperture: f11

Date Uploaded: Aug 20, 2006

Taken in the Stanislaus forest in Northern California. I didn't do any fancy editing outside of normal advanced editing rules, maybe that will make it stand out with voters. This is not Steve obviously, its me and I apologize for the baggy shorts :).
I only knew Steve from one thread where he helped me identify a cactus, but I was always hoping he was safe and keeping him in my mind for a safe return.

PP: Convert from raw, contrast masking, 2 selective color layers, one masked fifty percent on the sky, 2 curve layers one faded to 67%, two channels mixers, one converted to monochrome and faded to 17%.

Nice combination of vibrant colors and neutral rocks makes an evocative landscape.

That's a nice outcrop of conglomerate he's standing on. He just has to pull up his pants after doing that soul searching.

Beautiful location and well composed image. The view from behind supports your concept well. The main subject placement within the frame at the rule of thirds lower right intersection point perfectly fits the composition and the lake placement within the frame adds viewer interest. Nicely done!
However, I was not wearing lavender underwear during my sojourn into nature. LOL! - Steve

Wow! Kudo's to the guy standing on that rocky point!!! Needs a belt to hold them shorts up. ;^)

Nice capture overall, and I really like the fact that there isn't any major post-processing trickery going on here (if there is, you've fooled me!).

Good luck in the challenge.

Awesome shot. :) The title couldn't be more fitting for this photo. Nice blues in the sky and greens in the grass and trees. And climbing to the top of that hill for this shot shows some major dedication as well. :D Great job!
