Critique Club Review:

Overall a very good photograph. Lighting, contrast, saturation are all done well. Detail is only lost at the very tip of a couple of the flower's leaves. Still only minor. In another challenge this picture would have scored much better. As it is, the challenge was "soft focus", you used depth of field to isolate your subject quite well. The idea of soft focus, is that the subject of the picture has a soft focus. Your technique is very good, it just didn't meet the challenge.

Nice bokeh. Seems a bit oversaturated causing the loss of some detail in the flower.

IMHO this is more the use of depth of field than soft focus and I find the B/G a little distracting

This is nicely composed but I'm not seeing soft focus, only good DOF with the front flower in focus and the rest blurred.

The background looks wonderful; IMO, the cobwebs are distracting.

There is no soft focus here. Only a shalow DOF.

this shot is too blurry...could be sharper...Just Kidding!!

this is more of a out of focus bg rather than a soft focus shot in the true sense of the challenge, but a really nice shot 7

I somehow don't see why you'd consider this soft focus.
