This was honestly one of my favorites...I love the fact that you didn't use gaussian blur, that the effect was achieved "in camera". This just has a really nice painterly quality about it...so very different. |

I don't understand why people can be quite offensive when viewing something and making a comment that may hurt.
Before leaving a comment like one of the ones below, think if you would be upset or hurt if you received a similar comment, then maybe you would not write that type of comment.
I can see what you were trying to achieve, and think it is a mighty effort. It has a very surreal feeling, almost like a vision, or spirit, one has in a dream. This may be the softest of the soft, re the images in this challenge.

I still think this shot is good and didn't use gaussian blur, but will next time. |

IMHO this image is a little too blurred rather than soft |

This is a very unusual image. Out-of-the-box for DPC. Perfectly meets the challenge. Lovely subtle colors. Soft enough to lend mystery and clear enough to leave the face well defined. Among my top picks. |

Interesting effect with the soft focus looking like motion blur...

I don't know if this is soft or too blurred. But what the hell, I really like it. It's very unusual and would make a great poster. |

there is a fine line between soft focus and blur and I think maybe you have just crossed it but what a lovely cat. |
