I was trying to get a backlit shot, just don't quite understand that and I wanted to use this cat in a photo. His name is Rex and he's a ten year old orange tabby sphinx.

I cropped, resized, despeckled, unsharp mask, Contrast, and added a border. I couldn't figure out how to get rid of that glare on the lens. Any advice?

I'd prefer to see the cat's face, although the pose is interesting.

Also, what're the stripes on the left side of the frame, from the cate's body to the left edge?

I wish you could have gotten a little more light on her face.

Very nice looking cat, through a window this appears. Nice image, but maybe a differt crop, or... something... ??

The cat's face is completely blacked out! A white reflector (cardboard or cloth, for instance) to reflect some light back would make this a charming picture. Cropping out the boxes and paper on the right-hand side would also bring out the cat's beauty. There's nothing wrong with a tall, narrow picture if that's what best displays your subject.

Way to dark. There also appears to be a light pinkish band that goes across the picture.

Technical: the composition is good, the backlighting on the ears is great, what ever kind of lines those are on the left of the photo is kind of distracting, could be a little sharper!
Creativity: creative in the sake that there is something else besides just the cat, some people might call it clutter...but i think it's ok
Personal Opinion: great job on capturing the cat...i like it!

Having the blinds/frame directly behind the cat unfortunately breaks the line of its head. I do like the backlighting to bring out the ears, and to gently outline the cat's body. Do try to get this one again - it's a beautiful cat.

Unusual cat. Photo is a bit dark so it is hard to appreciate the subject.

There is major technical problems in this picture (I'm sure you can see them also). Composition and placement of the animal is also rather bad.

Nice shot. A little fill flash might have added to the facial features. BOL

Nice concept, but there is a hot spot running through the bottom third of the screen, and it is very distracting. The photo also seems too busy, with too many objects in the frame.

The lighting here is not good: the face of the cate is completely obscured, and the highlights are blown

Face is a little too dark, and that glare across her body is distracting. Nice cat

Too dark to show detail, but not dark enough to be silhoutted.

Yours is an unusual cat breed. Egyptian? How interesting.

Love the back-lighting coming through the ears! I think the centered composition works well, without the vertical window post in the background would have been even better. But the reflection in the glass is very distracting, I would definitely have edited it out.

pity about the reflection accross the stomach area and I would have liked to have seen the face a bit lighter but good luck

it's nice to see the cat silhouetted, but it looks more like a bad exposure...had you changed your settings and perhaps moved to a better position (to erradicate the window, this migh have worked better...6
