Arghh. Maybe I should stop going through the shots after the challenge so that I don't get so othered by the results. Thirty ninth is a very decent finish, but this shot is just gorgeous. The colors and composition are great. There are a couple of bright areas in the center (bottom) of the flower that could be burned a tad maybe. Great flower macro! Definitely one to be proud of. |

Wow! A great submission! Perfectly balanced in my opinion and just a great looking shot. Pity about the graininess. |

Nicely done. Looks like tungsten lighting though. An indoor shot? |

I've often wondered what the inside of one of these flowers looked like - now I know. Nice job! |

Beautiful flower macro, masterly use of colour, light and texture. The composition is unusual, but works nicely. Great range of tones, from the highlights at the bottom to the shadows at top right. Detail is kept throughout the tonal range. Just the right amount of blur. Lovely. 10 |

Love the lighting on the flower. The shadows and the reflections in the flower really help to make it pop out of the shot. Incredible beautiful colors. |

I'm really thinking this was wonderful. The only thing is the lightness of the sepal(?). Really yummy color and focus is perfect. |

Beautiful work... I love the softness of this photo. I saw a similar composition recently done with a stargazer lily that was completely backlit. This flower potentially has the same opportunity.. I think it takes a very bright source light to pull it off :) Excellent photo :) = 10 |
