Auto Contrast and some dodge and Burn to bring out the boy and his art
Slight desaturation of the background.
My aim was to have this image look like one of his paintings. I hope I achieved this

Taken on a trip to Havana, during a holiday in Cuba.
I took the shot whilst the boy was totally concentrating on his picture. For me it is simple, yet shows a study of concentration.
I also like it as this was the last shot I took in Havana and I am not happy with the any of the others.

From a pure compositional point of view, there would be greater balance if the boy had his legs the other way round and he was facing to his left. but hey I like this...

By the way he is not hovering in the air, he is sitting on a small box :)

Really cool find. Maybe a little overly sharpened but maybe not.

That roll looks really out of place. his shirt seems overly blown out. Maybe if everything was black and white except the pictres and him. Might make a more dramatic feel.

Really nice entry. Wish there were more candid shots like this in the challenge.

A nice candid capture of a street artist selling and displaying his talent and work. My critique is that I think the composition would be strengthened if you zoomed in or cropped out more of the stone wall surrounding him. Getting closer to the subject and even having him fully dominate the scene would be good because it gives the viewer an up close and personal look. Lastly I think that the composition would have greater visual impact if his face was not in the shadow of the hat - the brim actually covers his eyes. As such that his eyes are hidden from view and his face is not readily visible we don't get to see his expression. Showing the expression on the face would heighten visual interest. Is he lost in thought? Is he concentrating on his painting? We don't know because we can't see his face or eyes. Showing the human expression establishes a connection with the viewer and makes for a more compelling image.
