 My buddy Kevin in his gear. I thought this one was appropriate with the 5 year anniversary of 9/11 coming up. I also still remeber. I was still working as a paramedic in Atlanta that day, and that was one of the most strange shifts I have ever had. It was almost like the city stood still, but we were busier than we had ever been. Not one that I ever want to re-live, not that anyone outside of religous extremists that have no value for the beauty of life and happiness does either. I hope you guys like this shot. It is one of my personal favorites, and one that I had wanted a good excuse to put together for sometime now.

You know, I thought I'd commented on this one already - but it appears I did not. I really like this. Not just for the photographic qualities, but for the story it tells. In fact, mostly for the story it tells. I do like the fact the colors are very vibrant and nearly glow, and the silhouette is evenly dark and crisp. Well done!

Hello from the Critique Club.

I didn't vote in this challenge so this is my first chance to take a long look at your entry. You selected a very strong emotional subject, which could account for the higher number of 1's, 2's, and 3's than this image deserves. Your silhouette is extremely good with a sharp profile and solid black coloration. The only suggestions I have for improving this image echoes the comments made during the challenge. It would have been nice to see the flag more evenly lit on the left hand side by adding a couple of more lights. I also would have liked the one background light moved to the right behind the fireman to eliminate the hot spot in the star section. Overall this is a shot you should be proud to have in your portfolio.

Easily identifiable silhouette with good strong shapes. I think the lighting on the flag in the lower left corner is too different from the upper right.
