 Very early one morning, with an overcast (pinky) sky just after dawn.

PS Work:
Hue/Saturation to bring the colours down a little
Play with levels to maintain the light/dark points
Curves to soften the mid tone contrasts
Selection of the maroon doors using colour select then change of hue, saturation and lightness to really knock down the darker maroon.
Some colourisation of the white van to the right of the station building
Now here's the best one - add a hue/saturation adjust layer in saturation mode and then play with the hue slider until there is a little irridecance of pink. Knock the opacity of this layer down to 30%. Apply a layer mask to kill off some of the over the top pinkiness in the reflected water on the sand.

very cool composition. oddly flat considering how much perspective is involved here (I mean that as a good thing!). I gave it a 7.

Man, this challenge is something. Some stuff that's just astounding in how the entrants don't grasp the concept, and then...this. It's subtle (not dpc's strong suit with voters) and I like it.

British but in Brooklyn, I have never heard of or visited Saltburn Pier. It looks like a very grand location though. Your photo is lovely.
