Not really school chemistry. Not bad otherwise! |

it's good as far as a composition goes, but I feel it's a little overprocessed |

Some true chemistry for the chemistry challenge. Good job.
FYI:
4Fe + 3O2 --> 2Fe2O3 |

Yes....rust is chemical and this is a very good rust shot. Goodluck! |

the idea can be good but the focus isn't in a good side. the main subject is the chain and I think that the focus must be on the chain. An other point of view with other crop is better for this image. even need better details on the chain. |

I wish the focus on this was deeper. I really like the approach you took for this challenge - it's original. Having foreground and background blur in this doesn't seem to quite work right. I hate to mention anything to do with angles when not familiar with the scene, but here goes anyway. ;^) Did you consider moving a little to the left to get that foreground object out of the way? Even if you could have gotten in tighter to just capture the chain, sprocket, and plate it would have gotten the message across. JMO of course.
Sorry for rambling. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

OK, I accept that. The overall image suggests applied chemistry. |

Seems to be some kind of weird motion blur over the image, or some kind of blur anyway. Nothing seems in focus. |

Actually, the oxidation of iron is 2Fe + O2 = 2FeO. Nice to see someone recognized that rust is a chemical reaction. Love the tight crop and the coloration is spot on. Bumping to a 10. |

This is perhaps twisting the theme a bit too much, well it's on the edge at least.
Really nice looking image though, great tones and contrast.
Edit: after looking through too many boring typical chemestry shots I found this image falling on the right side of the edge :) |
