 This is a twisted, gnarled tree down the road from me...the title refers to the ability of such trees to drop branches on men while they work on them, thus creating widows of their wives...levels, curves, channel mixer, cloned out a small part of a roof in background, burned a couple of small areas, usm, cropped.

The branch to which your title points is, in my opinion, a very minor part of the image. The lighting is pleasing, the composition not quite there for me.
