A crazy, late night golf cart ride out onto the golf course, plastic cups full of wine in hand, on the search for single trees resulted in this. Luckily it was a full moon as it was the only light we had to see by. :-) I had to try to manual focus because I still don't know how to set my focus to infinity and there wasn't enough light to autofocus on the tree. This was the clearest shot I got from this angle.

So the original photo of this is VERY VERY dark. I had to raise the levels trememdously which resulted in quite a bit of noise so Neatimage was my best friend on this photo. I layered the neatimaged layer over the other layer and erased over the tree and grass in the foreground to bring the detail back into them. Other than that, I added a layer using Virtual Photoraphers Ambiance filter to up the saturation and add the glow. It's also cropped quite a bit. A little sharpen and resize and that's about it.

Might I add, it's damn hard to find a single tree around here! Hopefully the willow stands out enough from the layer of trees in the background so qualify as a "Single Tree".

nice work, jen! after you read this, i want you to stop what you're doing and go put both large and small flashlights in your camera bag (the large to light up your subject, the small for everything else)...

I'm a fan of the colour green so I am probably a bit biased but this really is a great photograph in my opinion. I thought about doing a weeping willow myself. You have just shown me how to do it well.

Pretty! You've done a great job reflecting the softness in the tree with the soft focus!

the only part I don't like is the water. I happen to like smooth reflections. It looks processed. I like the greens on the tree and bottom left. for "moonlight" in title I'd like to see more evidence of the moon. this could have been 8 am.

The softness really makes this shot. Just a tad too much saturation. 8

A very dreamy shot. I can't tell if it's post processing that gives it that quality, or just a long exposure and a little breeze. Either way it's really pretty.

Lovely lush green there. There are large areas in which nothing much is going on to enhance the overall effect. I call it diluted. I wonder if there is a way to counteract that dilution?

Lovely setting. Very nice composition. Colors are good. I like the context of the tree. But in my opinion you've gone a little too soft on the focus for my taste.
