We found this in our neighbours garden along with a partner and a baby lizard. I love the colors and the textures, of this "Australian Blue Tongue Lizard".

I would love to come to Australia and chase reptiles around. Unfortunately, I'd probably pick up the most poisonous thing in the country. That is one fat lizard with rich earth-tone colors. He'd look nice in my living room! Thanks for adding the story of how you found him. It's interesting that they were travelling with a baby.

He's a very cool cool guy..I love the angle and compostion..
I think you took it in lesser light because of the slight graininess.. Scarbrd's right the light kind of puts it off..Probably because he's probably reflects everything off..Even then, an amazing catch..

A little harsh on the lighting, but these things are tough to light. Looks like you lit this with an on-camera flash. I really like my cord for the Canon that lets you move the light off camera. That way you could have the light in front of the lizard or try different lighting angles.

Just something to think about.

I love the colours and sharpness of this - would like to see a little more light on Liz's head though.

Beautiful colours in this one, if it had a red dust background and was flat it could be an aboriginal painting.
