This is a lovely, lovely still-life! I wish it were on the front page. Love the little bit of newspaper showing. The composition is excellent, and so are the colours. Congratulations!

Congratualtions of your top 5 finish- I love the simplicity and clarity of this composition. The warm colors and lighting add to the comfort of the shot. Way to go!

| Why blacking out the background? This could have been a pretty nice still life, but you turned it into a stock image. :( Also, the light from the right is too harsh - the stalk and some of the seeds are too bright, loosing the subtle semitones which are usually so pleasant to look at in this sort of pictures. |

| Great colors and composition. The shape and color of the stem adds a great deal here IMO. Perfect crop and great border. Well done - it's even on a newspaper - just like I do it at home! :) Back to bump to 8. |

| Nice, I like the setup and color especially the stem of the pumpkin, some of the seeds appear to be a little blown out but overall very nice and meets the challange. 9 |
