I used channels to tweek the monochrome scale.

Hi, I think that there are some problems in this image. The most important is that the image is too flat. It need more contrast(perhaps too much hard the light). From compositional aspect the pair of corns is too on the middle, a small movement on the left is better.

Nice composition, but the dark rendition and lack of contrast in the shadow areas makes the acorns hard to see.
