 took a pile of coloured crayons and wrapped an elastic band round them all three times to make it as tight as i could, took photos from the tip end and the base of the pencils, felt the tip end was obvious and you had to look twice at this end to see what it was, thankyou for all you nice comments this was all new to me,

You didn't go out a buy a new set of pencils just for this challenge - did you? ;^) Just pulling your leg, been there, done that myself. This is a good choice of subject for the challenge. A bit static and maybe a little short on the "wow" factor - but it should do "ok". I think an even tighter framing with 8 full ends showing might have had more impact. Anyway, good luck in the challenge.
