Wow - first I thought the "shots" were some kind of clouds in the background, but after a few sec I saw what it actually was... Good picture and a great moment you captured.

Congrats on your finish. I personally would have placed you higher. I disagree with many of the comments regarding the cutting off of the barrels and I think many people didn't appreciate the capture of the flint on one gun and the blast from the one above it being caught simultaneously. I wouldn't change a thing!

8 - Like this, especially the gunfire - wish you had been able to capture 'more' within frame, but obviously difficult, especially with this 'zoom'. Good capture of the 're-enactment'. Liked the colors. Just seemed to be a little processing visible here and there - but apologies in advance if wrong. edit:to add comments

My personal preference with this image would have been to have seen this executed at a wider angle revealing more of the gun barrels and action. I feel that the main character of this photograph is the older gentleman in the foreground, would have at minimum been nice to have been able to see his gun barrel flash. Wider angle may have also made this shot a little less busy. Good luck with the challenge!!!

Wish the muzzles of the guns weren't all cut off, but still a great shot capturing the flame from the one on top.

I think it is a great photo, what really makes it for me is the capture of the musket actually firing.

I love this. The detail, the pattern... Still back and forth over the crop of the barrel ends. Since its not there I wonder about it. Beautifully rendered.

The cropping is a little tight and I feel I am missing part of the image at both the top and the ends of the rifles on left side, color and focus are nice and the blast out of the top rifle is fantastic. 6

Nice capture. The crop is too tight on the left and it would be good to see the ends of those arms as well. Still, a very nice capture.

Really nice shot. Another shot in the challenge shows some Civil War guys in a similiar pose. While you captured the action that the other shot sadly missed, this shot would be even better with a reduced DoF like the other. Still, very nicely done.

Amazingly clear, sharp, well focused and great copmosition here.
I really think this is a great example of stoet telling in an image.....
I love this one and hope it does well.....The black background really stands out strongly, against the red jackets, and the smoke from the guns.....
