Some soot on the walls or pot or a full kettle would have enhanced the "old" feeling for me |

I like the idea but the picture just doesn't quite work for me. I think the lighting on the background is too dark at the top and too bright at the bottom. I would also done it from a different angle. But then, that's just me. Others will probaly really go for it as is. |

The simplicity of this image is what really attracts me. Well done! Jak |

The kettle seems in such good condition, I have a hard time convincing myself this is old, but it does describe an older way of life, so mostly credit for the challenge. I know you couldn't do this, but it would have been much more lively with a fire and maybe some stew bubbling in it. (YUM) Good focus. 6 Swash |

Lighting is a bit harsh-- the bottom is quite bright while the top is too dark. I know the kettle is old, but that apsect really hasn't been emphasized here (for instance, by focusing on the chips and scratches in the kettle).

Lovely. Lovely lighting. Lovely subject. Lovely framing. Really great shot. Only nit pick is that it could use a touch more sharpening in my view. |

the composition is good but I think the hook is the attention getter. the greyscale adds dramatically. |

I like this simple but strong composition. Nice framing but it seems that the kettle could be sharper or more in focus. |

I really like the framing and composition on this one. The background is nice too. It maybe needs a slightly sharper focus on the whole kettle, and not just the top, but I'm not sure it would be possible. karmat |

I'd prefer a larger Macro shot at this kettle. Objection is wonderful. Nice work. |

If you would have had the kettle full of stew it would have been a winner for sure. I have voted on 22 and this is best so far. In my opinion any way. Autool |

Something old. Use your photographic technique to emphasize the age of your subject. Composition - quite good Technical Aspects - quite good Meets Challenge - yes Visual Impact / Originality - good

There should have been some food or something in the pot. |

It looks to me like this shot was lightened a bit, I think it would benefit from increasing the contrast some, to make the pot a little darker. Nice subject and good composition |

interesting composition... i like the effort on that part quite a bit... the lighting also works well... the sharpness is a little weak though... good work :) - jmsetzler |

The focus seems a little soft. I really like the composition though. |

Beautiful composition. The colours are nice too... dull and dusty. You definitely emphasised the age of your subject. |

The kettle is superb with the lighting on it. Love the way you cropped this. Would have liked to see the top of the background just a tad lighter. |
