Very interesting idea. It has a very astrophotography vibe to it. I'd probably give it between a 6 and 8 depending on challenge topic. |

This is cool! It looks downright spooky.
As for score, it would depend a bit on the challenge assignment, but I think a 6. |

I've seen so many eye shots that this is just more of the same. I'd score it a 4 |

first I cropped in around the whole eyeball and blacked out everythinge besides the colored part (didnt worry about getting too close). Then I applied curves to make the eye darker, then I applied levels (very extreme S curve. the left side was all the way at the bottom until the first line). then I burned around the edges with a airbrush to get rid of any white. then I cloned out a highlight near the pupil on the top, then i smudged and blurred near the top due to a reflection of the rest of my room, then i dodged some dark spots and burned some more highlights, then I applied unsharp mask and made some minor adjustment to the levels curves to make sure no white was showing. then I added some more black around it because the resolution wasnt high enough to submit a full size picture. then I added the border, saved, resized slightly, and submitted :) |

I like it.. how did you do that??? I'd give it a 7 in a challenge. |

This is almost spooky without the "sparkle" to humanize it. |

I think it's cool! It's certainly unique, usually we see macro eye shots with white all around, not black. |

I don't know I kinda like it. maybe more color or none at all. hard to say how to make it better without knowing what you don't like about it. |
