Macro shot of my eye with some levels, curves, unsharp mask, cropping, painting, more levels, bluring, smudging, burning, dodging, border, and some frustration because it didnt turn out as well as I wanted it too...

Please add a numeric score so I can get a feel on how this would do in a regular challenge.

Very interesting idea. It has a very astrophotography vibe to it. I'd probably give it between a 6 and 8 depending on challenge topic.

This is cool! It looks downright spooky.

As for score, it would depend a bit on the challenge assignment, but I think a 6.

I've seen so many eye shots that this is just more of the same. I'd score it a 4

Love the processing, and this has the "WOW" factor as well.....

first I cropped in around the whole eyeball and blacked out everythinge besides the colored part (didnt worry about getting too close). Then I applied curves to make the eye darker, then I applied levels (very extreme S curve. the left side was all the way at the bottom until the first line). then I burned around the edges with a airbrush to get rid of any white. then I cloned out a highlight near the pupil on the top, then i smudged and blurred near the top due to a reflection of the rest of my room, then i dodged some dark spots and burned some more highlights, then I applied unsharp mask and made some minor adjustment to the levels curves to make sure no white was showing. then I added some more black around it because the resolution wasnt high enough to submit a full size picture. then I added the border, saved, resized slightly, and submitted :)

THAT IS TOTALLY COOL!!! Like a nebula or what your title says. KILLER! Isn't levels and curves the best???

This is almost spooky without the "sparkle" to humanize it.

I think it's cool! It's certainly unique, usually we see macro eye shots with white all around, not black.

I don't know I kinda like it. maybe more color or none at all. hard to say how to make it better without knowing what you don't like about it.
