This was shot with a 12 mm extension tube - and a tripod... not sure what's for lunch, but the spider seems to be enjoying it. I had some issues with the head of the spider. I tried dodging a bit to lighten it, so there was more contrast between that and the 'lunch', but dodging/burning always leaves things sort of murky looking when I do it. Not sure what I'm doing wrong...

I don't EVER want to be that close to a spider! YOu captured ALL of his creepiness! Great pic.

I think it's eating a licorice candy. I like it. Tell me, how close do you physically have to get to the spider to make a shot like this? What if the spider jumps at you all sudden like, and you run away screaming and trip over your tripod and break your camera? I would be worried about stuff like that. You are a brave woman.
