Among the landmarks of historic Halifax, none is more recognized than the Old Town Clock. Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, arranged for a turret clock to be manufactured for the Halifax garrison. The Town Clock officially began keeping time for the garrison on October 20, 1803 and has served the residents of Halifax ever since.

Completely unscathed by hurricane Juan that pounded the city with winds reaching 150 km/h (94 mph) six days before this shot was taken! Impressive.

Original shot was cropped, lightly sharpened and colour tweaked using Auto Color.

To the Troll who left a 1... NYEH NYEH NYEH! THHPPPTTTH! LOL! That feels great!

Can't understand the bunch of 2's either but hey, that's how it goes.

To everyone else, thank you for taking the time to vote and special thanks for those who left comments.

I KNOW the clock isn't visible, but in those days Old Town Clock meant the whole building, not only the clock face itself.

Thanks again.

Post card colors and focus. Clock is a little hard to really see, but do know it is there. A very busy photo but doesn't really hurt it much. Good job.

Nice shot - The Citadel. I was just there in August. Like how you included the bus, it shows activity. Nice colors. Good job.

Good and clear and colors are very good. My one suggestion would be to try to have shot this without the people in the picture (They distract from the quality)
Early morning before they arrive is a good time maybe.

too much going on here - title suggest clock is the main item, yet it can barely be seen, maybe "The Old Town Clock TOWER"

I find this image to be a bit too cluttered and bottom heavy for a portrait format. Colors are vivid but lighting is too harsh as man walking towards camera is obscured by shadow.

This looks like Halifax! Nice shot, was this before or after Juan?
Added note: it looks like the cleanup went well in the downtown.

I like the bold colors in this photo. I think the woman's blue coat on the right and the other woman's white jacket make it work better for that dark area of the photo.

Good colors and very sharp. A tad busy in the foreground but still nice overall.
