I am always looking for new media for macro abstract refraction shots. I've used screens, nylon netting and various pieces of glass ware (You want glass...got to Pier One!). Recently I tried seltzer water bubbles but the attempts were not great. Them dang bubbles move all the time. Then I saw this....hmmm...bubbles that don't move....perfect!...well not really. It's a work in progress. While the bubbles do not move, they are very hard to line up and get sharp shots of the bubble refrations. So I think I'll keep working on in it. Oh the media? A 12FL Ounce dispenser container of Purell Hand Sanitizer. In this, I place some red rover mums behind the dispenser to shoot.

This is a different take on mums!
btw... I was out shooting at a community garden this morning, and there were tons of mums, and dahlia's, which made me think of your wonderful photos.

Beautiful. You take the "experimenting with weird things" to a new level. Congratulations, BTW, on your POTD at Betterphoto - it's a fantastic shot!

Very interesting. From the thumbnail I thought it was a piece of electrical equipment.

Stefan, I thought about that momentarily. But to me it seems to be all Bokeh and no subject that it is enhanced by Bokeh.

Really neat but I think you're right about the focus, I'd love to see more of the bubbles in focus.

I think this turned out nicely! I wouldn't have guessed it was hand sanitizer! Good idea. I love that one bubble in the upper right hand corner that is so clear!

The little bit of dark purple in the bottom right is a bit distracting.

I'd like to see this method with some other colors too! I bet it would be neat.
