 Wow what a crazy challenge. I had one entry with 7000 little circles, one that I really liked and this one that fit challenge very well. I didn't know that this was bokeh so I posted it on the website for a short time. A few people pointed out that this in fact was bokeh and I was bummed that I had posted it. Ursula was so kind as to tell me I could enter it anyway since I took it down so fast. SO I thank her for that.

I shot this at 300mm from about 10ft away. The plant was looking over a large field of grass. I took the image into Raw Shooter and adjusted the white balance and color and out came this purple. The best part is it made the seed pod have the white hugh which really looked nice against the purple backdrop. All I did after that was rotate a bit to compensate for my lack of camera skill (I shoot everything crooked) did a tiny bit of levels to bring out a bit of the contrast, croped, and then a tiny bit of unsharp mask. Oh ya, then I needed just a very little neat image to get rid of the noise from the unsharp mask...

Beautiful Image! Amazing work in both the capture and the processing. I think you were robbed in the placement; I would have pegged it as a top 5, at least! Please let me know if you decide to make this a print; I'd like one.

the subtle purple tones in the stalk/pod are brought out so well in the background -- one of my favorites this challenge

Oh yeah!! This is the BEST entry of the challenge. I love everything about it. The composition, the light, the bokeh but mostly the COLOR. Gorgeous. Congrats.

Adding a laverder/blue color cast to this image works well. The composition is and technical quality of this image is excellent. The bokeh is unusual and gives the supporst the main subject very well. Nicely done!
