| The bright white is distracting as are the white specks on the bottom right. The top left 2/3 of the photo is gorgeous. A crop of just that part might have been better. With a gold and black border :) |

| Geode! Seen enough of these for sure in my lifetime! The idea is great. The shot itself though, while the cropping is great the lighting on the right is too bright and the shadow that falls across the center is distracting. Knowing how beautiful these can be inside with the right lighting I would have played with it from that side and had more of the focus on the center. Starting this one at a 5 |

| While I like the picture very much the right side of the photo is blown out with too much light. You might have wanted it that way but for me it would have worked better if it had not been so bright. Good shot though. |

| Good idea but I do not think you have managed to bring out the best of such a subject. Not that I am suggesting that I could, they are IMO very difficult to get right, I suspect the shots you see in books of these wonderful objects are multi lit with filtering thrown in! But good try all the same. |

| If the light could have been directed more to the interior crystals this would have had more impact |

Good Points: stands ouit well thanks to teh black bg
Bad Points:dof bad in this case and overexposed on the right.

| The light seems to be a bit harsh on this subject and it is also slightly overexposed for my taste. |
