my wife found a dead butterfly and gave it to me to take photos of. this is a wing.

Nikkor 50mm 1.8 reversed on the Tamron 90mm macro in natural sunlight

this was actually a hold over from the abstract macro challenge...

i'll have to look up the camera settings at home tonight.

I'm with Karen! LOL. The thumbnail I thought it was a feather then closer I thought it was a bag or sack. I'm still staring at it wondering how on earth it's a butterfly wing!

Very cool. Might be nice with a lighter blue background.

Wonderful texture. I can't believe this was handheld. Even with a tripod I struggle to get the focus right on little things.

Wow, this is amazing. From the thumbnail I thought it was a feather but when I looked at the full size I thought it must be painted fabric. Amazing detail here.

hyperfocal... you are quite correct... keeping that much of the wing in focus at that distance w/ this set up took quite a lot of patience... are you even more impressed if i tell you that it was handheld? hehe

Great control of your craft to keep so much of the wing in focus at that magnification and limited depth of field. Love the colors and details.
