Hi from the Site Council!
This image just came to our attention. Because of the time that has passed, no action will be taken, but as a note for the future, this method is currently illegal in all but expert challenges, and if used, will result in dq. |

Be aware in the future that your picture would be disqualified for stitching multiple images (check out the rules). Interesting idea, using a vertical panorama, though. I expect you adjusted the focus at each position, giving the effect of a tilt/shift lens, but that might have made the stitching more difficult. I'm going to have to try this out myself!

Back to comment: An uninteresting subject and awkward looking crop. The image could also use some more contrast and saturation to give it more depth. |

A very bold and confident crop, I like the unusual and that is what you have gone for. Unfortunately I donĂ¢€™t think the foreground has enough interest to work with this move. I would try more of this extreme cropping, as it has potential, but I think you need to experiment with the foreground to make it work. |

Sorry but there is nothing in this shot to keep the viewers attention, the grass and leaves in the foreground are just not impressive enough. It might have worked by getting down to a low perspective and get up close to a leaf and let it fill the bottom third. |

The crop of this image is uncomfortable to me. |

This is a nice, peaceful composition, but as such comes across as missing a little zing. The foreground really just doesn't have much to hold the viewer's interest. |

I like the unique crop, not sure if others will. This is definitely a landscape in portrait per the challenge, but the subject matter doesn't really have enough color contrast to draw my eye to anything in particular. I think it may have been just a little too late in the season so this composition missed some possible good colors in the trees. Of course that too would have been out of the submission timeline. I just think the composition needs a little work. Score: 5. |

The crop doesn't rescue this at all. Not one for the keepers drawer. |
