Challenge: Landscape in Portrait Orientation (Advanced Editing IV*)
Camera: Nikon D70
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED
Location: Local park
Date: Oct 29, 2006
Aperture: f/8
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/25
Date Uploaded: Oct 30, 2006

I saw this leaning tree and couldnt help but try out the tilted angle. Followed only "basic editing" rules for post-processing.
Personally, I love the contrast of blue and yellow. Although considering the fall/autumn season, I am not sure how well this one would do compared to bright yellow/orange/red ones.
I like the tilted angle a lot and hope that aspect will appeal others too.

Vertiginous. I do like the strong blues in the sky and the water, but I don't feel that the tilt adds anything to this.

It took me a second or two to figure this shot out! Good exposure and sharpness. Nice shot. -8-

Very interesting. There's a few neatnicks out there that won't like horizon angle but, I think it works well for this shot because of the tree's orientation.

I like the line of trees in the composition. The white around the border is a little distracting but I don't really take off points for borders. I do not like the leaning effect caused by the angle of the shot. I think it would be a nicer shot, IMO, if the image had been rotated to the horizontal point of view. 5.

Well, that's one way to keep the horizon from cutting the shot in half. Actually I find this very interesting and pleasing even if disorienting. ALl the triangle areas really create a nice balance.
