I wasn't shooting for the Free Study when I took this and I don't really care how it does. I just fell in love with this photo the moment I saw it and yes, I'm probably VERY partial, but it speaks volumes to me about what the future holds for this confident little boy of mine and how it looks like he's ready to take on anything life throws at him. So Thanks for indulging this shutterbug mom. :-)

On a side note, it kind of reminded me of larus "Somewhere" "Nowhere" photos of Kristin. That is, if they were quadtoned instead of color and of a little kid instead of a beautiful Icelandic model. I'm just sayin'.... :-)

Converted from RAW
- cropped
- levels & curves adjustment
- dodge & burn layer
- added vignette darkened and blurred around the edges
- quadtoned
- resized, unsharp mask, bordered

You know, I'm not sure what it says about this site that this is rated "average". Well, I do know what it says, and I can't say that I like it. This is awesome. This tells me that this young man has the world in his hands. I was blown away by his confidence - that look, that stride! This goes on the wall. Great shot, ma'am - priceless captured moment in time.

Nice exposure on this shot! Sepia tones look good, though you might try placing your subject a little to one side for some added interest.

This is an awesome portrait. I like the color tones and the way you have captured his "confidence."

good image showing confidence. The sepia i think works better than b&w or colour would have.

Very sweet portrait. Love the processing!! I think I'd crop some on the left and top to make him a bit less centered. Great job. :)
