Very intriguing macro of this food! The close-up view really brings out the textures and colors of this food nicely. There is a general glare to things, though, that might be avoided with more diffused light--outside in the solid shade, for instance, would give you nice natural colors with little glare. Anyway, just some thing to experiment with. Have fun!

The blue plate and red tomato make an attractive photo of a visually boring (but tasty) food.

I like the use of "primary colors" but with the lighting wasn't quite so harsh.

I can't see any benefit to not having this entire image in focus.

Awesome contrast in colors! Love the blue against red! The DOF is quite shallow though making the mac & cheese look not so appetizing! Also the reflections on the macaroni are distracting!

One of my favs and this one isn't from a box is it? the DOF on this shot is just a bit off with the front so fuzzy and just a bit more red than I would have liked. I'm giving you an 8, tighter cropping would have earned at least a 9 :)

My favorite dish. Add a little smoked sausage to it and you have a masterpiece. Maybe a little dash of pepper! A little blury in the forground. Good luck

Mac and cheese and tomatoes?? That just looks discusting. As for the photo, it seems that the DOF is a bit shallow. TOO shallow. The only part that really stands out to me as being at all in focus is the edge of the tomato. Also, the shot seems grainy. Especially in the blue area. It bothers me that the large area of mac and cheese in the bottom right is badly out of focus. I would prefer this part to be in focus. ~Heather~

You made good use of the tomato to add red. Cheese and tomatoes are appealing to most people thus the popularity of Pizza and lots of other dishes. The blue plate adds an unexpected element. Personally I don't like when the oof area is in front. To me, most of the time, the foreground should be in focus or cropped out. BUT...that's just personal. :-)

DOF lets this down

I love macaroni & cheese but I have to be honest and say this looks a little unappealing. Might be the soft focus, the noodles don't look very defined and the color is a bit washed- out. I do like the color differences however - nice use of primaries. 4

Getting an 8. Focus and arraignment are my issues. I would have pulled back and tried to get the plate edge to give some 'linear' object edge for contrast. The focus speaks for itself. I do know that the focus it tough at this distance.

The focus is on the edge of the tomato - would like to have seen more of the image focused. The blue, red and yellow make for a nice contrast.
