I wish I could have gotten all three windows which were in different neon frames but there was a lady in front of one of them waiting for a bus. Oh well this one works just fine. It looks like a border was added in pp but it wasn't. I only cropped to just outside the neon light which framed the windo.

post challenge. Thanks for the post challenge comments. I see now the issue being someone elses art and understand why it got the score it did. No heartache on that. Just wanted to say that I chose it because of the way the neon played on Bobs poster and enhanced it (I thought). I figured this would be something different than what others would submit and hoped that would make it stand out and for at least one voter it did. Its alright though because I'm here to learn and getting low scores may frustrate me but it doesn't bother me when someone can explain why (which you have done). Thanks to all those who commented. Oh and I'll never know but that lady detracted from the scene and didn't enhance it at all. Not because of what she looked like or what she was doing or anything about her really just the lighting and her position was all wrong for a good photo. I would have had to change my position and at the time I was pulled off to the side of the road downtown with my six year old asleep in the back of the car. Not a good part of the neighborhood really either so there ya go.

I gave you a 3 for this, although it was a very close run thing to a 4 - don't be too disheartened though, because I did vote consistently lower than my average throughout this challenge. Ivo has pretty much summed up my feelings - you have competently photographed someone elses artwork, but haven't brought anything of yourself to it. I note that you say you had originally wanted to photograph the series of three panels, but that someone was sat in front of one of them - I wonder whether there might have been a photo opportunity in that. Hope this explains one of your votes.

I gave this a 10 as I really liked the unique feel of this among a lot of entries that had the same feel to them.

I wasn't able to vote for this one Sherryll, due to being away, but I would have given you a "6" or a "7", re some of the entries were really top stuff.
I feel you did not deserve the 1's 2's & 3's, that you received, and don't know why you got no comments.
I really like your composition, and now that I have read your own comments, I like the fact that you didn't have to put a border around it due to the image that you took was already framed.
Well done girl, and keep trying, as we all learn something each and every time we take a photo.

Firstly, BOB is good! Now that we got that out of the way, its not YOUR shot. What I mean by this is that there certainly is a neon object but so what? The neon serves only as a frame and you are relying too much upon someone else's "art" to add value to your image. I like the crop as it is bold and concise but otherwise, what is yours?? You asked .. you got and BTW welcome to the 40s.
