 Went to the zoo (again) to see if I could get a good lion/tiger/flamingo image for this challenge. WHile I did get some decent shots none really had a postcard feel. Opened up this one and was pleasantly surprised with the composition and the sharpness of detail. Considering this was shot with no flash, through glass and a 1/50 shutter speed I am quite pleased with its technical aspects. The text is simple and the overall layout is simple. I really think that this might actually be the type of image that the zoo would put on a postcard. Does that mean it will do well here? Probably not. But I have nothing better and I want to keep my DPCaholic status along side Bear_Music.

Now - after editing and submitting I went to check out the past challenge - no animals and almost all landscapes. I have no clue how this will do. It is not the stunning landscape that I am sure will win but it sure is a postcard. Lets see how many low votes I get.

PP - RAW conversion with the usual shadow, highlight contrasts, saturation and sharpness. In PS - levels, saturation, selective color to tweak the water color, cloned out a rock ledge on the bottom, light burning and other light cloning to clean up spots in the water, USM, NI, resize, border and text.

I was just checking this - I haven't really gone through the results of the challenge yet. But, yeah, well done for the high score on a non-landscape shot (that's also stuck on my fridge at the moment ;-P)

Its nice to see how well this did and is defintely should be in the zoo postcard rack. Congrats on having the highest non-landscape/cityscape shot, you did it the best this challenge.
