There is a very interesting white-on-white pattern in the bark that is maybe just a little to bright.

Lenticles, I think those marking are called in Betula species. Simple but very pleasant. 7.

That birch bark looks like a geological map. :D Good eye to see this as I think it fits the challenge quite naturally (pun intended). You may have been nervous about blowing out the whites, but I think you could have pushed the white point up just a tad yet. Otherwise, well done. Good luck in the challenge.
