This is one of the ducks who lives at my apartment complex. I love the green of his head.

The colors have come out really well, focus is good too. The sunlight is a bit harsh but not so much it detracts too much for me. A good photo. 6

Shots of ducks are pretty tough to make into something unique. This shot does convey the aloneness theme, but seems to suffer a bit from an everyday sort of angle and a few blades of grass in the way. This is the view most people see of a duck from the shore, there really isn't anything unique about it.

I'm not exactly sure how you could have shot this differently, other than grabbing a long lens and laying on the edge of the shore a few meters down the shore and taking a shot at eye level across the water.

I do have to say that the colors, clarity and exposure in this shot are top notch.

I hope this helps.

would have been a nicer shot without the grasses occluding the duck. wait a little longer next time so that he moves into a better position or you can get a better vantage point.

Alright, where's his girlfirend? They ALWAYS travel in pairs. I guess that makes the subject even more fitting for this challenge. Very nice job capturing the colors of the Mallard and nice choice in positioning. The three stalks of grass covering it are a bit distracting but I suppose he would have swam away if you tried to remove them.

That ducks eye and the way it's neck sort of tucks in make it look lonely. But perhaps you could take in more of the water and grass because it looks like something could be just beyond the fringe of the picture that gives this duck company.

Good color. The reeds bug me a little, but other than that nice image.
