 Finally a challenge where having pasty white mayonnaisse skin was a plus! This is a self portrait. I want to improve my people shots and unfortunately have no abundance of models. I've always thought these springy things people use in floral designs are cool so I decided they can be the next big fashion accessory (kind of a pain to get through doorways though)!

I put on piles of makeup & taped a couple white poster boards to the outside of my garage door for a clean backdrop. I saturated the blue in my eyes but decided to leave my God-given brown stripe in my right eye.

Boring details: shot in RAW - did some raw conversions (contrasts, light adjustments, sharpness, detail extraction). Elements - selective color, crop, unsharp mask, burning, dodging, levels, curves, minor cloning, neat image, blur.

This was dissapointing to me. I used very little neat image on this shot - gained the effects through aperture & lighting & tons of make up (maybe too much brown powder in my eyebrows!). I thought it looked kind of cool and artistic and was bummed when all the NI comments started rolling in. Well...looking forward to the next TAKE TWO challenge!

Well, I didn't get to finish all the voting and missed this one, but I really like it. It looks so fresh and artsy. I think the face looks very intentionally like that. I think its hugely underrated!

I figure you already know about the NI so I won't go there. BUT... I did like this image very much. I thought the idea was good, the expression was sweet, light was awesome and the props were a neat touch! :) Nice work Aimee, great creativity.

I opened this image and HAD to chuckle...it must be great to be your neighbor(s) lol. Woman you never cease to amaze me with the 'ideas' behind your shots. VERY CLEVER. what an inspiration you are!!! and of course, very beautiful...nicely done.

I would have liked to see one extreme or the other in the skin tones. Either fully natural or porceline like. This inbetween feels dirty to me. I like the idea thought, great eyes.

Love the inventive idea. I do think the soft/noise ninja is a over done on the face. It makes the eyes look a bit plastic. Still the colors are good and the idea was good.

Could be me but the eyes look alien to the model - too much PP perhaps - apologies if this was the effect you were going for but it's not for me. Image with softer eyes would get an 8, this way sorry it's a 5

I think you used too much net image on her face. I like the composition and her "outfit" but her face just looks wrong (and a bit blotchy/red as well).
