I can't believe I'm doing this. I've got a serious adrenaline rush going on here. This is me in my bedroom. It kinda reflects some of what I'm going through now. I need to break out of the box I've built for myself before I do have a breakdown...

No crop (straight out of the camera), desaturated, resized, USM, added a border. All of me!

I gave you a "7" and possible more if you took the shot from further back. It would isolated you "the subject" more and give an even more feeling of "alone". Cropping close to the frame makes it feel confining.

a little bit of photoshop would do wonders

I like the use of negative space in this composition

Too posed - or at any rate, too posed-looking - to be truly affecting. Quite like the way the subject isn't lit, if you see what I mean. But it feels too obvious. Looks like someone with a hangover, more than someone deperate.

This is the second naked breakdown person I have seen in this challenge. The funny part is when people get down and out, I don't think they get naked -- do they? Naturally when we are down and alone, we want to cover up and go away. We cover up to escape, to not be seen IMO. If he was clothed, I would have liked it better. You convey the breakdown feeling well.

Great emotive photo. Use of light and black & white is wonderful. Focus is good, I like the composition of the piece. There does seem to be some odd color wave affect on the walls, possibly from resizing. Great image. 8

The stark composition, low key, and the model's pose and nudity do suggest a breakdown and the loneliness associated with it. Not a pretty photo, but a moving one.

It seems to me the picture tries too hard to be "Art" with a capital "A." I don't mind staged shots, but this one seems *too* staged. It doesn't seem real or honest. Sorry. I do like the composition, though. The placement of your subject heightens the feeling you're going for.

why is all alone apparently about breaking down?

Somehow the toes distract. Too much light there. The rest is just a tad too dark to appreciate it. Maybe a spotlight toward the face would help.

Good job. Really makes me feel enclosed, edgy, with my back to the wall. Really well done.

Love this shot. I feel for the guy. This is what I envisioned for my own photo but did not make it happen. Good job.

This photo is excellent-great in black and white. Definitely captures loneliness. I'm new to this website...I find many of the photos 'staged'. Is that the norm and it's obviously acceptable? What little training I've had in photography has been in photojournalism...the art of capturing life as it happens. Staging anything is a huge no-no in photojournalism, so this is very new to me. Any comments?

Nice image, I like the effect of being huddled in a corner. I just think this might have been slight nicer if you could have taken in more of the blank wall around him.

By putting your subject on the right hand side of the frame you have boxed him in, so there's no room for a feeling of loneliness. Otherwise a well done image

Very nicely composed and a nice interpretation of the challenge. The absense of any detail really helps set the mood. Good choice for black and white.

Pos .. I like the composition here, and this fits the challenge well. B&W works great, nice choice. Nice and sharp - i like that.

Neg .. I would like to see less of that shadow behind his back - its a bit distracting. The subject is a little dark, a step lighter would be great.
