Wentworth Church in Yorkshire, taken one Sunday morning in November. Lots of fill light in RAW Shooter to get that HDR-style look, cloned out a car, levels on the church and the trees, colour balance, some overall levels, USM and save for web.

I think this is a beautiful photo! would have gotten an 8 from me. Love the texture and depth of the church. Pretty light.

The sharpening and fill light did give a rather HDR look to the church. I think part of the problem is that it is completely incongruous with the rest of the photo which is bright and blue and less gothic looking. The white area to the left of the church is a little distracting and it looks like you might have a bit of perspective distortion going on because the church roof looks a little bowed and the tower appears slightly tilted. It's a nice looking scene...I wonder how it would look zoomed out a bit/from farther away.

Hi there - Aside from not really having much emotional impact, there is a lot of haloing from oversharpening around the branches in the upper right. It looks like what happens when I try to zoom way in on a subject that's really just too far away for my camera to handle well and then crop it way down. Not saying this is what you did, but I don't know how else to describe it. I can't comment much on the color since I'm using a crappy work monitor, but the sharpening issue I think killed it more than anything else.

Nice architecture and lighting. Is the haloing natural or due to sharpening? 7.
