Wow - you did a number on the voter's with this one!

I have to admit, being the father of 5 & having delivered the last one myself (and I do mean the LAST ONE - ha ha) I wasn't that put off by this. But, I didn't score it high, either - in fact I gave it a 2 (sorry!). Part of me did think it was a Brown attempt & I wanted to oblige, but I had deeper reasons, too.

I can appreciate a little shock value (hell, I did a series of "Things Found Dead & Rotting" 10 years ago) but whenever I see an image I think of how it COULD have looked, I see the many roads the artist could have taken. When I saw this one, I immediately thought that the cold sterility of it was absolutely meant to disgust and though I can appreciate that purpose & admire its success, I also thought what if the lighting had been X & the angle had been Y then my reaction would have been Z instead. I know, I know - it's not my place to 'own' your art, but if it's out there I WILL take it & make it my own & make those judgments 'cause it can be hard to that very same thing with my own.

Anyway, I really wanted Z with this one, something that took a moment longer & relished life instead flushing it down the toilet- too much of that going these days to begin with! Perhaps you should have entered in Death instead...

"Course what the f*** do I know - I shot a freaking LED bulb for a challenge about celebrating life.

Interesting breakout of the comments between male and female. I did not vote in this challenge but I did page through and figured this one was yours. I don't find it at all offensive, and in fact I think it very well presented.

Had to wade through all the results to find where you were placed: You were the only 10 I gave in this challenge!!! Sorry you were not given a worthy placing...maybe the voters are just not ready for your brilliance :) (see now that I also scored your Monty Python way up there as a winner...?) It must be a select group that understand and appreciate your work...not to mention aren't afraid to look at it!! Next time...

whoa......You've got a strange imagination or a sick, sick sense of humor! A little too graphic for me. Sorry

This is a daring entry that took a moment before the little lightbulb went off in my head :-) I'm having trouble seeing the whole photo on my monitor in one go, so it's tough to say whether or not the composition works IMO. It definitely works on the level of making the viewer stop and think. Is it art? Who is qualified to say? 6.

If this is intended to convey what I think it is, then you are brave for putting this up.

all I have to say is how disgusting. I know pictures are supposed to get a reaction out of people, (I guess you have succeded) but I think this is just uncalled for on a site like this. Call me close minded if you must, just voiceing my distaste.

no vote, just comment.

xianart... you should really stop using yourself as a model, it makes you too easy to recognize. 7

Gosh, this is a super shot. If it is what I think it is, could be a little too confronting for some. Still, it certainly gives one pause for serious thought and not just a fleeting glance.

Hate to say it, but the subject matter is just too crude to receive a fair evaluation of it's photographic merits. This would be on par with me taking a picture of my poop and naming it 'Bacteria's Playground'. Your image is meaningful, but too offensive in my opinion to do well. Good luck though.
