Sorry... been a little busy lately but here's the answer.
Yes, it IS a flipped photo. Been wanting to use this technique for a while and this was a perfect time. The reflection after the flip was achieved by giving a layer of Gausian blur to the bottom half of the image and then gradually strengthening the eraser tool as I worked my way up the image. Highlighting parts really helped with the effect as well. The rest was a mixture of dodge and burn and a little sharpening. Thanks for the comments. I'm glad it was received so well and that it was hard to determine for sure if it was a flip or not... :)

Congrats on such a high placing...well deserved!

The smoothness really suited this. Red silk. I am curious about what lens you used. My gut is suggesting this is a flip rather than an actual reflection, but so very deftly accomplished (and I just now read Pineapple, the king of flip, saying the same thing below). A strikingly vibrant horizon, any way you slice it. Nice going :)

I'm gonna guess this will do well - the red and the foggieness are quite striking - the horizon seems just a tad thin to me but otehr than that eight on.

What's real and what's not? It's an elegant presentation. I wonder if it is a flipped photo. 9.

I like the dark trees and the red - the only thing I'm not sure about are those splotches of red high in the sky, despite their authenticity (of location). Nice and moody.

Best reflection I've seen(and I've voted on about 75% so far)It looks realistic, even if this is "Expert Editing".

I love the reflections and the compostions. On the down side is the burned out red where the sunset is.

I like the crop and the reflection. The reds are too saturated for me but otherwise the color is good.
