Soft focus works well with the soft tones in the fur, as well as the fade to black. Back to bump up. 8

7 - This is nice, but the 'sudden' change from the fur to the 'black', is a little odd on first glance. Like to have seen Smokey just a little more facing camera. Beautiful coat and eyes, like to have seen even more detail/texture there, especially at the point closest to the camera - which could be focal issues, not sure, as seems sharper on the far side of the face. As he/she is looking 'out' of frame, perhaps a more vertical crop/framing would have given this an edge.

this is beautiful The color of the backround really plays well off the color of the cat. the lighting has great balance, excellent composition and clarity. Nice use of the rule of thirds.

There is just something about long hair cats that make them lovely models. Great lighting and colors. Taking care ofthe highlight on the front eye could have made them spectacular. Bumping up to an 8.

Lighting is perfect we can see all the lovely details of color, texture, and face. The clean & simple black background helps to make this cat really pop off the page visually. The picture captures the downy softness of Smokey's fur giving the viewer a sense of touch. Well done.
