This is Samson (aka Sammy). My very sweet, loveable, rambunctious and loves to chew 7 month old beagle. He had just been reprimanded and was giving me the big brown eyes.

7 - Nice capture. Fabric in the foreground dominates a little too much in my opinion. Shame about the paw chop. Looks like some sat/contrast issues, especially in the whites. 640 would have helped you too. Like the composition.

Great portrait. I love this picture. Very nice color. Cropped a bit tight but very nice.

What a look with those pensive and understanding eyes and those those lovely ears framing the face! I would have stayed with him and gotten the pillow out of the way. 7

Love that sad-doe eyed expression on this beagle! It is the expression that really makes this portrait. I really think that the visual impact of the photo would move out of the good category and into the exceptional one if you went for a tighter focus on the face. A tight square crop or rectangular crop on just the head and a tad of the upper body would keep the attention of the viewer squarely arrested on the face and that wonderfully sad expression. Plus keeping the background to just a simple red helps the dogs darker/black tones really pop visually.

Nice lighting. I think I would have liked it better without the pillow, and maybe cropped a little off the left.

The pillow to the left is a bit distracting. Nice focus. Beagles have such cute faces.

With such a great looking dog and expression I think I'd have cropped way in on his/her face. The background is pretty distracting and not really very flattering.
