 A composite of 3 shots
Moon taken in the daytime and rotated to give appearance of sun underneath plus gausian blur applied.
The bright lightning bolt and the scattered lightning taken from the same spot over our lake
Shot cropped at the bottom and mirror bottom section
Varius layers of levels, Brightness/Contrast, Hue/Sat and Curves used with graduated masks and varied blending modes and opacity. Canvas was flipped horizontally

wow... catching all that should have been excided.. and scary :P ... too bad there wasn't a full moon... it would have brough the scary mood level to an even higher level

Wow! Knock my socks off! I am so fascinated by lightning and yet Im so scared of it. I love to look at the winding trails. Especially that large fat one that loops like a lariat. The colors here are amazing and the reflection on the water just astounding. Talk about the right place at the right time! This is definately my 10!
