Here's a trick for bugs. When you catch them in a jar put them in the fridge for about 30 min's It won't kill them, just slow them down, a lot. This also works well with butterflies. The pictures look nice because the bug is alive but they don't move or fly away for a good 10 min's so you can get that macro shot.

you killed it! shame shame, if you're gonna kill a bug (or freeze it), you have to make it look...alive. what I mean is the legs are all shrivled under it :(

How do they see out of those things? I wish the image didn't get quite so blurry towards the top right corner. |
