Hey there from the Critique Club
Camera Work/Technical: I like the detail you captured here with the spot-on focus. The fingerprint detail is very nice.
Lighting: Great job with terrifically even lighting on all parts of the subject. I do think that the background is a bit too bright for this one, giving it a somewhat washed out feeling.
Composition/Content: While the sticky relation is easily made, I think that you needed more sticky than just the little dot between the fingers. Other than that, you have a strong composition that leads the eye up and down the entire image. Very well executed.
My Opinion: I think this one scored a bit low. This is a fine macro, but who am I to think I understand the voters.

Not a bad score at all, and in the top 50%. Good showing for something you thought would really suck.
The focus is tack sharp, so don't try to get away with anything naughty -- we have your finger prints.
Your background is nice and white, which is something I have yet to achieve. I think a colored background might add a bit more appeal. While the skin tone and honey color are excellent, the over-all effect is rather colorless. Or how about black and white with spot color for the honey? I don't know, I'm just trying to think of some ideas of how to improve the appeal of an already good image. |
