Amazing isn't it? How could anything survive...yet it does and you captured it. Congratulations! I think the picture could benefit froma tighter crop...not too tight, since it's important to this concept to show the circumstances of it's growth. I'd be happy to discuss it more sometime... Still a nice shot. Grayce...gracious |

Artistic, abstract ideas call for unconventional composition in your images. Be more daring! |

Wow. That stands out so well from it's surroundings, it almost appears to jump right out of the photo. The background is pretty darn ugly, but I think that just adds to the actual subject in this case. I don't know what kind of plant it is, but it sure is pretty. Lighting is good and angle is good. I wish that bright white squarish thing wasn't in the top left corner, but there was probably nothing you could do about that. Congrats and good luck in the challenge. |

This is just not visually appealing to me.......Sorry. Maybe rule of thirds with a closer crop would help. |

This one really stood out for me, not unlike the plant!

haha.. wow.. that is one determined plant. I think I would crop about 2 inches from the top. |

I think a macro view of the plant would have made this a much better picture. The idea is great, but I didn't notice the plant straight awayâ€Â¦ Sorry to be so negative. |

I like the subject, the graininess of the rest of the picture adds to the harsh feeling. Maybe if the Coleus were a little sharper it would stand out even more. |

I had wanted to do a similar shot, but had a hard time finding such a brave subject.
also, no penalty this time, but proofread your title before you submit |

It's so pretty in it's harsh environment, it looks fake! Very good pic. The white thing in the top left corner takes a little away from it, though. 8 |

Something new. Composition - pretty good, could have cropped more so the plant was larger and the white thing upper left was missing Technical Aspects - pretty good. Meets Challenge - yes Visual Impact / Originality – pretty good Jim msp

a good find, but the subject is too centered for me |

Are you SURE you didn't spot edit this picture? The jpeg compression seems a little off around the leaves.... I'm not sure though. Really nice if it isn't. |

the saturated colors really jump out at you from the otherwise bland background (not as an insult, the blandness actually helps the picture). karmat |

cool capture. shame the image is a bit pixelated. maybe you could get closer too. |

I can see the 'new' in this photo, but the overall image lacks punch... - jmsetzler |
