I was inspired by a hamburger restaurant wall panel that had strips of photos of ingredients set on a lightbox, including slices of renkon like this. So I bought some renkon, made a crappy lightbox with a box and some greaseproof paper and put the slices on it, holding the box over my upside down table lamp which I had to hold with my foot to keep it turned on. I wish I'd had a proper lightbox so the backlight would be even.
PP: crop, USM, curves, levels, USM, a bout or two in the ring with a wrestling bear, rotate, resize, USM, more levels, save.
Oh, renkon is the lotus plant rhizome (root). |

pretty creative idea here. I would have loved to see a more balanced lighting scheme or more constant. But it is a very good idea. |

I like the idea, but you must learn to use the light better. Experiment more, it can be done what you wanted 3 |

Very nice - both idea and composition. Good luck in the challenge. |

Bold choice of framing | very cool & unique pattern | neat tones | I can't decide if I like the blown highlights, though... << 7 >> |

I wish the flesh of the fruit were transparent/or more green to make this picture more alive/vibrant. I like the idea though. |
