| Composition is not bad. Unfortunetly, the whole pic is a bit blury and this distracts from me giving it any higher than a 6. |

| Going to college. There is nothing else in the world that will compare to that feeling. Definately a new experience. Subject is great, lighting is great. I wish there was a bit sharper focus, however it doesn't take away from the photo. The pencils and pens seem a bit cluttered, but then again, that may just add to the new experience as being a bit confusing. I like how you included the student ID in there. Nice photo, good luck with the challenge. |

| On the technical side, the colors seem funny to me (maybe a white balance problem) and the focus is too soft. |

The experience is new to you, but the items you photographed do not carry the impact of "new." Infact, the Lit book appears used and old.
Still, it was a difficult challenge for many, myself included. |

| Seems that the strap is the only item fully in focus... perhaps the books could have been focused with the foreground blurred, or maybe the focus could have been on the compass, since it might be the most visually interesting object. |

| I like both the idea and the composition, but somehow it's a little to busy for my taste tough. I think the photo would have had more impact with less attributes. |

| What is 'new' here? The books definitely look worn/used. I understand that the photographer is probably showing us 'new' books for the school year, but the subject of the photo does not look new. 'E' for effort though. At least they didn't show a baby, puppy, sunset or flower bud! |
